Startec is currently recruiting an Intermediate Expeditor to work at our Calgary Glenmore Office location (Suite 240, 4000 Glenmore Court SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 5R8).
In this role, you will work closely with our document management team, vendors, suppliers, engineering, production and warehouse staff to expedite critical documents, drawings, align expectations with delivery schedules, and resolve any delays or issues that may arise. Your focus on accuracy, effective communication, and resource management will help maintain seamless operations and support our project timelines.
Ensure timely delivery of documentation and drawings by coordinating and monitoring the progress by project, the Sub Vendor Drawing and Documentation Requirements, collaborating with vendors to confirm expected delivery dates, troubleshooting delays and notifying internal customers.
Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, communicating delivery expectations clearly and negotiating as needed to meet project requirements.
Troubleshoot delays and notify internal teams promptly, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
ERP & DATA MANAGEMENT (Weighting 25%)
Accurately enter and update documentation details in the ERP system (NAV & D365) to maintain an up-to-date record of delivery statuses.
Prepare and distribute reports on expediting activities for management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability in documentation tracking.

PROBLEM SOLVING & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION (Weighting 15%)
Identify potential delays or issues that could impact project milestones or final product delivery.
Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and project teams to prioritize orders, resolve issues, and align on documentation requirements.
Support the Senior Expeditor to ensure materials, services, and documentation deliveries are synchronized to project timelines.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT (Weighting 15%)
Actively seek and recommend process improvements in expediting practices to streamline timelines, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
Stay informed of industry best practices and integrate innovative approaches into expediting functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in expediting, supply chain, logistics, or procurement, ideally within industrial or manufacturing sectors.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NAV, D365) Document Management Software (WRENCH would be an asset) and supply chain management software; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
Certifications: CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional), or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) is a plus.
